Carlotta Bailly-Borg (born 1984, France) lives and works in Brussels. Working primarily through drawing and painting, Carlotta creates strange and sensual figures that explore the tension between discomfort and empathy. Mixing references from mythology, medieval manuscripts, and pop culture, she builds timeless, ambiguous worlds where bodies twist, merge, and misbehave.
For COMBO, Carlotta brings one of her signature characters into three dimensions. Fully articulated, the dancer can also be completely disassembled and reassembled : its body becoming a playful puzzle of limbs and joints. Awkward yet endearing, it doesn’t seek perfection, but presence. With its clumsy stance and searching gaze, it invites us to move it, rebuild it, and join its quiet quest for belonging.
