Back from a trip to Amazonia, Virginie brought home photographs of medicinal plants and the visual language of the rainforest. Corazón Tigrado — the tigered heart — is said to bring protection, and opens the series as its founding piece.

Hadrien salvaged imperfect offcuts — screw holes, unfinished edges, some sanded smooth, others left raw — and had plugs added at random before reshaping and retrimming each piece until it found its balance. Layer after layer, the accumulation starts to look like something excavated rather than built.

A femur bone dagger stacked in a gothic rosette, carved straight out of a barrel cactus. Half shrine, half skeleton, it spins the way folk saints and gothic cathedrals share the same appetite for symbols. Sounds a bit Mexican, don’t you think ?

Vidya is obsessed with an amateur painting palette — a flower-shaped board every beginner starts on. It also reads like a Christmas cookie or a birthday cake. Push it to 5, 6, 7, 8 petals and it tips into sacred geometry: the banal becomes the universe.

The caduceus was Hermes’ staff before it became medicine’s emblem: two serpents coiled around a single axis, one bite that kills, one venom that cures. Frédéric spins that ambiguity into an object built entirely on balance — two forces wound around each other, never quite resolving.

Romain worked on this one from a distance — fitting, since he’s one of the people behind Glitter, the recycled-plastic workshop supplying part of the material for this residency, and he’s currently traveling. His piece is a cheerful satellite: present without being there, signal standing in for the body, an omnipresence that stays invisible.

Alexandre fed the workshop a flood of AI-generated shapes — and kept coming back to the sphericon, a hybrid solid that rolls in a strange, wobbling line, neither sphere nor cone. Half math puzzle, half toy, it’s the kind of form you have to spin to understand.

As a photographer, Maria wanted to translate caustics into an object— the light patterns thrown by glass or water. Playing with the irregularities and contrasts of a recycled black-and-white plastic board, a simple sprinkle pattern, and a beam of infrared light, it becomes strikingly efficient once set in motion.

Guy set this constraint: use as much of a given offcut as possible — scraps roughly 8 x 30 cm, their shape and pattern never chosen, only inherited. Handle and axis are cut straight out of the sheet, leaving behind a pattern of openings that reveals an hypnotic rhythm once the top is spinning.

During a psychedelic experience, Dimitri saw grids — and came back obsessed, drawing them over and over in an almost compulsive series. Here the grid turns on itself, perspective folding inward until the structure gives way to a fractured, star-like vision.
