Hadrien salvaged imperfect offcuts — screw holes, unfinished edges, some sanded smooth, others left raw — and had plugs added at random before reshaping and retrimming each piece until it found its balance. Layer after layer, the accumulation starts to look like something excavated rather than built.

The caduceus was Hermes’ staff before it became medicine’s emblem: two serpents coiled around a single axis, one bite that kills, one venom that cures. Frédéric spins that ambiguity into an object built entirely on balance — two forces wound around each other, never quite resolving.

Romain worked on this one from a distance — fitting, since he’s one of the people behind Glitter, the recycled-plastic workshop supplying part of the material for this residency, and he’s currently traveling. As a photographer, Maria wanted to translate caustics into an object— the light patterns thrown by glass or water. Playing with the irregularities and contrasts of a recycled black-and-white plastic board, a simple sprinkle pattern, and a beam of infrared light, it becomes strikingly efficient once set in motion.

Guy set this constraint: use as much of a given offcut as possible — scraps roughly 8 x 30 cm, their shape and pattern never chosen, only inherited. Handle and axis are cut straight out of the sheet, leaving behind a pattern of openings that reveals an hypnotic rhythm once the top is spinning.
